AFN chiefs want residential school ‘denialism’ to be legislated as hate speech crime

First Nations chiefs are asking the government to make it a crime to deny the harms caused by residential schools, treating it like hate speech. This request comes after an attempt to include such denial in a federal anti-hate bill was recently turned down by the Senate.
