What This Vote Is Really About

This vote is about a proposed law called Bill C-50. The law wants to make sure Canada's economy becomes "net-zero." Net-zero means we take as much pollution out of the air as we put in. Motion 164 is trying to change Bill C-50. Someone wants to add something to the proposed law. They want to make sure the government considers the best available science when making decisions about reaching net-zero. If this change passes, the government would have to use the most up-to-date science when planning for a cleaner economy. This could affect what kinds of jobs are created and how quickly Canada reduces pollution. People should care because it could change how we fight climate change and what our future jobs look like.
