What This Vote Is Really About

This vote is about a proposed law called Bill C-50. This law wants to make sure Canada creates jobs that are good for the environment as we try to have a "net-zero" economy. Net-zero means we take as much pollution out of the air as we put in. The government wants to make sure they are open and honest about how they are creating these green jobs. They also want to listen to workers and other people to get their ideas. This vote is about a small change to Bill C-50. Some Members of Parliament want to change the wording of the proposed law to make sure it does what it's supposed to do. If this change passes, it will slightly change how the government plans to create green jobs. Citizens should care because these jobs could affect their future and the environment. This law could change the kind of jobs that are available and how Canada fights climate change.
